Logo work for a society at the University of South Wales. 

 

The society celebrates all things Japanese, especially anime and manga, so the logo had to reflect this. The logo also had to be attention-grabbing for use in events, especially when competing against other societies during freshers fairs. 

 

The bold, impactful typeface with Kanji-inspired elements immediately provides visual clues to what JAMS is, with the Kanji symbols reinforcing this.

 

The anime and manga element is the depiction of Astro Boy - a classic manga series from the 1950’s that got adapted into what is believed to be the first anime. The trail ‘swoosh’ behind Astro Boy also provides a sense of movement and excitement to the design.
